Our first vlog as the Northern Four On Tour family is finally live, and we’re excited to share our journey with you all! We’ve been in Spain for about a week, soaking up the Spanish winter sun while adjusting to life on the road. Although we came down with bronchitis (yikes!), we’re slowly getting back to our usual selves. Today, we decided to take you with us as we explore the vibrant areas of Torrevieja and La Zenia. Torrevieja or La Zenia? Which should you visit and why?
We kicked off our adventure with a visit to Torrevieja. It was 23°C (a lovely break from the British chill), but we quickly realised we were getting funny looks from the locals as we wore summer clothes in their “winter.” It’s always amusing when you’re dressed for the weather you know, but everyone else is bundled up!
The town was quiet, likely due to the off-season, but we were impressed by the variety of shops and activities still available. After some exploration, we decided to head to La Zenia for a change of scenery. Our taxi driver recommended La Zenia’s Boulevard, boasting a larger shopping area. On the way there, we discovered that, unlike in the UK, traffic rules here are a little more relaxed—crossing a road anywhere other than a zebra crossing seems to be unheard of!
When we arrived in La Zenia, we were immediately struck by the modern vibe compared to Torrevieja. The area felt less built-up, with impressive apartments and wide streets. We took a quick detour to grab a few photos and enjoy the fresh air before heading towards the Boulevard.
After a bit of walking, we finally made our way to the shops, and it didn’t disappoint! La Zenia has a fantastic shopping centre, and we enjoyed exploring a range of stores while taking in the buzzing atmosphere.
While it wasn’t the smoothest vlog due to some ongoing health hiccups (thanks, bronchitis!), we’re thrilled to share this snapshot of our first Spanish adventures with you. Our little one, Amaia, wasn’t feeling too well, but we managed to push through and start making memories. Isaac, on the other hand, was super excited to explore the area and even made a joke about eating “lasagna in La Zenia” (a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity!).

Thanks for joining us on this adventure, and stay tuned for more from the Northern Four On Tour family!
